L@s que vivimos la época de los Bee Gees recordaremos su gran éxito "Staying Alive" como un estallido de energía en el panorama musical de finales de los años setenta. En principio, no sabríamos de dónde venía el grupo, pero sí que disfrutábamos bailando su tema. Reforzaron la indumentaria tejana, pues la moda trajo las botas camperas y las camisas vaqueras. Y bailábamos esta canción que arrasaba en las discotecas españolas. Mientras tanto, íbamos conociendo que el grupo estaba formado por tres hermanos australianos: Barry, Robin y Maurice Gibb.
We, who lived the Bee Gees period, remember their hit "Staying Alive" like a burst of energy within the musical scene at the end of the 60's. Como veis en el cartel español de la película, la "Paramount" presenta a un joven John Travolta luciendo palmito con traje blanco impoluto y cuya pareja espera a que el amo de la pista termine su paso "pose" para caer de nuevo en sus brazos y danzar juntos en una pista, toda para ellos, iluminada desde abajo... ¡jo, qué pista! ¡jo, qué traje! !jo, qué pose! Dicha postura se iba a quedar en la retina de los españoles para el resto de los restos... Bueno, más bien en la retina de todo visionario de la película, porque cualquiera que se pare delante de ti y te haga esa pose... ¿quién se cree que es? ¿Travolta? Jijiji. Bueno, a lo que iba:
A quien no haya visto la película, vale la pena verla, pues también catapultó a la fama a este bailarín..., que no bailaor. (¡Vaya, hoy estoy bromista!) De hecho, poco después, lo veríamos de nuevo bailar en las películas Grease (1978) y más adelante en Pulp Fiction (1994). De las que ya hablaré más adelante, que me voy por las ramas...

Veamos... estábamos en Fiebre del sábado noche. La película trata de un chico (John Travolta), cuya vida es totalmente monótona, excepto cuando llega el fin de semana y se transforma en alguien importante para los demás, pues es admirado por su forma de bailar en la discoteca Odisea 2001; allí se celebrará un concurso, que tratará de ganar junto con su pareja de baile (Karen Lynn Gorney). El argumento de la película está bastante trillado, pero hay que tener en cuenta que las canciones y música que lo acompañan en las diferentes escenas son una maravilla:

The plot deals with a young boy (John Travolta), whose life is totally monotonous till the weekend, when he becomes somebody important for the rest of his friends, who admired him because he dances very well in the discoteque called Odyssey2001; It will be held a dance contest and he will try to win together with his dance partner (Karen Lynn Gorney). The plot of the film is very well known, but its music is marvellous.

Lo que no disfrutes cuando eres joven, no lo disfrutarás cuando seas mayor. No te dejes llevar por impulsos, ni por lo que digan los demás, sé tú mism@... Cuando tengas dudas sobre algo, no hagas nada. Si necesitas hablar, hazlo con tu herman@ mayor, con tu tí@ preferid@ o con tu mejor amig@, -que será tu madre o tu padre- pues ellos han pasado por las mismas experiencias que tú y saben qué hacer.
